Oh, hello!
I'M CARLOS GÓMEZ INIESTA
First of all, I love cinema. I also love entertainment. And art. These passions led me to found The Film Tours México a project dedicated to showcasing my country’s incredible audiovisual and architectural heritage (it’s too beautiful to keep it to myself). I graduated with Honors in the Master's in Digital Humanities from TEC de Monterrey, where I researched film tourism and data that screamed, "Share it now!" Years earlier, I also obtained a degree in Communication Sciences from TEC and deepened my love for films with a filmmaking specialization at the New York Film Academy.
Throughout my career, I've been lucky enough to work as an editor for the specialized magazine and website Cine PREMIERE for over a decade. Later, I made the leap to become the Content Director at Grupo Expansión, Mexico's largest media group. There, I discovered that managing multiple brands and audiences is like conducting an orchestra: challenging, exciting, and sometimes chaotic (but always rewarding). In 2017, I landed at SensaCine Latinoamérica, the digital native outlet of the french group Webedia. The challenge? Building it from scratch, with no script or special effects. Like any great story, with teamwork and a lot of love for movies and series, it soon became one of the most influential platforms in the region. In cinematic terms, it was like launching an indie film and watching it become a box office hit.
My work has been published in national and international media like CNN, La Tempestad, Cinemanía Spain, and others. I’ve also given lectures in various countries, been a professor, and a jury member at numerous film festivals. I had the honor of receiving the CONACULTA-Juan Grijalbo scholarship in 2009, and since 2015, I’ve been part of the selection committee for Mexican Fiction Feature Films at the wonderful Morelia International Film Festival.
Last year, The Film Tours México received one of its greatest honors: it was selected by the Cultural Enterprises Incubator of the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City and the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities (UCCI). This recognition reinforced my vision of connecting cinema with cultural tourism (because, let’s be honest, what better combination than films and travel?). All thanks to cinema. To entertainment. To art…
